Security forces have killed several terrorists during a series of Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), news reports have said on Tuesday.
Reports quoted security sources as saying that the operations were carried out under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision to counter terror threats in the region. Forces destroyed multiple terrorist hideouts and engaged Fitna al-Khawarij militants in a series of encounters, killing several of them while a number of others sustained injuries, according to the sources. A large cache of weapons, ammunition and other equipment was recovered from the hideouts during the operations.
Measures were taken throughout the operations to protect civilian life and property and to prevent harm to the local population.
Security forces reiterated their resolve to continue intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until terrorism is fully eradicated and lasting peace is restored in the region.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday that security forces had killed seven Indian-sponsored terrorists, including a suicide bomber, during an earlier intelligence-based operation in the Nushki district of Balochistan.
Forces identified and monitored a terrorist hideout before neutralising all seven militants in a surgical strike, the military’s media wing stated, adding that ammunition and improvised explosive devices found at the site were destroyed on the spot.
