TikToker Alina Amir has praised Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz, calling her an idol for women and commending her work on social issues and women’s empowerment.
Alina shared her views during an interaction at her graduation ceremony at Kinnaird College for Women University, where she celebrated completing her degree.
Speaking about the occasion, Alina said, “We have waited for this day for like four years now, and alhamdulillah, I’m very happy and grateful that after four years of hard work, our graduation is taking place. And yeah, my parents are also proud.”
When the interviewer asked her to describe Maryam Nawaz in one line, Alina responded with “Cheeti!” and laughed.
Asked about her views on the chief minister’s role in women’s empowerment, Alina said, “I feel like she’s an idol for every other woman. She has helped me in a lot of things. Regarding social media and social issues, she has helped a lot.”
She added, “And I feel like in Punjab, she is doing a very good job overall, and for women empowerment, she is the best.”
When asked to rate Maryam Nawaz out of 10, Alina gave her an enthusiastic response, saying, “Out of 10? 100,000,000 infinity! She’s doing an amazing job. Mashallah, very good.”
Alina also explained why she supported her praise with personal experience rather than simply repeating what others say. She said she had appealed for help on social media over certain cases and issues, following which the chief minister took action.
“No, no, I’m being very neutral because previously, people only watch and hear things. I have experienced it; I’ve been through it,” Alina said.
She continued, “When they took immediate action, there were a few matters and issues regarding some cases. I only made an appeal on social media, and she took action. Against those people, they took action immediately, within one week, they resolved everything.”
Explaining her position further, Alina said, “I am not just saying this blindly based on hearsay. I’ve been through that, and I’ve seen it myself.”
Alina Amir rose to fame after a recreation of a viral dialogue from Indian actress Parineeti Chopra gained widespread attention on TikTok and Instagram, earning her the nickname “Sarsarahat Girl”.
She has over two million followers on Instagram amd 2.6 million on TikTok.
