Sheheryar Munawar has joined cricket fans in celebrating Salman Ali Agha’s impressive catch during the second Test between Pakistan and England at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
“And that’s why we keep watching, for moments like these,” Sheheryar wrote on his Instagram Story, sharing a clip of the catch.
Salman, who captained Pakistan in the first Test, produced a stunning effort at slip on the opening day of the Lord’s Test on Thursday, giving Pakistan a crucial breakthrough as England looked to build momentum.
He was not included in the playing XI for the second Test, but came onto the field as a substitute and made an immediate impact with his sharp catch. The breakthrough came after England had recovered from early setbacks, with Jordan Cox and Jamie Smith putting together a 61-run partnership.
Pakistan made a much better start in the second Test than they did in the series opener. The visitors won the toss and chose to field first at Lord’s on Thursday, while their seam bowlers made the most of the conditions on day one. Mohammad Abbas led the way with four wickets for 56 runs, while Mohammad Ali picked up three for 67.
England slipped to 36 for 3 in the morning session before Smith and Cox steadied the innings with fifties of 61 and 55. Bad light brought an early end to play with England on 248 for 9.
Meanwhile, Sheheryar is currently receiving praise for his performance in the ongoing drama Dar-e-Nijaat.
