The Executive Committee of the Sindh Bar Council has suspended advocates Talal Jumani and Shehzor Panwhar for three months for allegedly forcing two accused individuals to issue an apology within court premises.

According to reports, the suspension takes effect immediately and the council has also banned both legal practitioners from entering the bar room or wearing the professional uniform during the course of suspension.

The Executive Committee has referred the matter to the Disciplinary Committee for formal proceedings, reports said, adding that the evidence will now be examined to determine whether further disciplinary measures, including the potential cancellation of the legal licenses, are warranted.

The official statement from the council stated that “the dignity of lawyers and professional ethics must be maintained under all circumstances”.

The council also announced that it will initiate disciplinary action against any lawyer who violates professional standards or brings the legal profession into disrepute.
