Two brothers have allegedly axed their father and his friend to death during a dispute over agricultural land in Hafizabad, police said.
According to police, the father and his sons were arguing over the land in Kolo Tarar when the man’s friend arrived to help resolve the dispute. The argument escalated, and the sons allegedly attacked their father and his friend with axes, killing both men.
Police said the suspects attacked the victims after their mother provoked them.
According to the District Police Officer (DPO), police registered a case against the sons and their mother at Vanike Tarar police station following a complaint by another son of the deceased man.
Police arrested one of the suspects, while efforts continue to arrest the remaining suspects, the DPO said.
Earlier in a separate incident in Gujrat, police arrested Muhammad Bilal over the killing of his 24-year-old younger brother Muhammad Sufian in a dispute involving land and domestic matters.
Investigators said that CCTV footage and phone records linked Bilal to the killing. According to police, Bilal had returned from abroad before calling Sufian from their village. He then took his younger brother to an isolated place after inviting him out for a meal and killed him, investigators said.
