Celebrated for her powerful singing and spiritual devotion, Sufi music icon Abida Parveen has achieved yet another remarkable milestone: she has been featured on the famous Times Square billboard in New York City.
Times Square is well-known for its famous digital billboards and commercials, which include pictures of notable celebrities and a variety of well-known brands. It is acknowledged as one of the world’s busiest travel destinations.
Abida Parveen has long been considered one of the best Sufi vocalists of all time. She has a devoted fan following not just in Pakistan but all around the world.

Abida Parveen has received two presidential awards, the first being the prestigious Presidential Pride of Performance Award, and a Nishan-e-Imitiaz in 2021. The Pakistani artists being acknowledged on a global level is not new. In October 2023, Spotify featured folk singer Mai Dhai and Talal Qureshi on a billboard at Times Square.
