Swat police have arrested three suspects for allegedly filming a ninth-grade student after forcing him to remove his clothes and later circulating the video on social media, a police spokesman said.

The video surfaced on social media a day earlier and showed students filming their schoolmate in an objectionable situation.

District Police Officer (DPO) Swat Muhammad Umar Khan took notice of the incident and directed SHO Zia-ur-Rehman to take action.

Police teams later arrested Abdullah, son of Yaqoob, Sabir, son of Iqbal Hussain and Muhammad Bilawal, son of Farman.

During the initial investigation, police said that the suspects lured their schoolmate Muhammad Sadeed to a hujra (communal guest room) on the pretext of a party.

The suspects allegedly forced Sadeed to remove his clothes, recorded a video of the incident and threatened to kill him if he disclosed what happened. They also threatened to circulate the video on social media if he didn’t stay quiet.

Police registered a case against the suspects and started further investigation.

The police spokesman said that DPO Umar Khan had directed officials to take legal action against those involved in the case and stressed the protection of children and citizens as a priority for Swat Police.
