Pakistani rapper Talha Anjum has spoken about the support and appreciation he has received from Indian artists, saying that personal interactions often paint a different picture from the narratives seen during periods of political tension.
Speaking during a recent interview, Talha highlighted the love shown by Indian rapper Badshah, comedian Samay Raina, and several other creators towards Pakistani artists and their work.
The rapper recalled a viral moment when Badshah praised Young Stunners’ popular track “Gumaan” during an interview.
“He was talking about ‘Gumaan’ during an interview, and what he said resonated with a lot of people,” Talha said.
He also praised Samay Raina and other Indian creators for their warmth and respect.
“Samay Raina is the same way. All these people are extremely warm and loving,” he observed.
Reflecting on the political climate, Talha recalled that the people he has personally interacted with in India have always treated him with kindness.
“That’s why, whenever a war-like atmosphere is created and we watch the media, I often wonder, ‘Who are these people sitting on television?’ Because the people I know are nothing like that,” he added.
Born in Karachi, Talha Anjum is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in modern Urdu hip-hop. As one-half of the rap duo Young Stunners alongside Talhah Yunus, he helped bring Pakistani rap music into the mainstream.
Over the years, Young Stunners have built a massive following through hit songs including “Afsanay,” “Gumaan,” “Downers at Dusk,” and “Baller.”
Today, Talha remains one of Pakistan’s most streamed and influential music artists, with a fan base that extends beyond national borders.
