Security forces have killed three terrorists, including a commander, during an operation in Balochistan’s Mastung district, security officials said on Monday, as authorities continue operations against armed groups in the province.
The terrorists were targeted while travelling in a vehicle, which was struck by a quadcopter during the operation, security officials said. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the strike.
Among those killed was a terrorist commander identified as Naqeeb, officials said.
Operations against the terrorists would continue until the “last militant is eliminated”, security officials added.
The latest action comes days after security forces killed at least 11 India-sponsored terrorists in separate Intelligence-Based Operations (IBO) in Kharan and Washuk districts.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operations were carried out on Sept 6 and 7 after security forces received reports about the presence of terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan, which officials describe as an Indian proxy.
Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been affected by violence in recent years.
Multiple research reports have identified KP and Balochistan as Pakistan’s main hotspots for violence, accounting for nearly 96 percent of violence-related fatalities in the second quarter of 2026.
KP recorded 475 deaths and 151 violent incidents, while Balochistan reported 265 deaths and 94 incidents during the period.
Both provinces have witnessed a rise in terrorist activity since 2021, when the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan.
