‘That story is quite old now’; Mahira Khan gracefully shuts down Bollywood comparisons
Superstar Mahira Khan, who made her big screen comeback with the film Love Guru set for release on Eid-ul-Adha, has won hearts with her graceful and intelligent response to a question about Shah Rukh Khan and Bollywood comparisons.
After promoting the film in Pakistan and the US, the film's leads Khan and Humayun Saeed arrived in Dubai to continue their international promotional tour.
Mahira was asked at a promotional event about her experience working with Shah Rukh Khan and whether Pakistani cinema, particularly Love Guru, had reached the same technical level as Indian films.
"You’ve worked with Shah Rukh Khan and have experience in Bollywood. Love Guru also looks visually stunning. Have we now reached the same level technically?"
Mahira responded with calm confidence, “That story is quite old now. You should ask me about The Legend of Maula Jatt. The production quality of Maula Jatt was unparalleled in the subcontinent. This film was as brilliant as any international film.”
She continued, “As far as technology is concerned, I think we are improving day by day. I don't think there should be any kind of comparison. You will also like the visuals and sound of Love Guru.”
