TikToker Jannat Mirza has spoken out against an AI-generated video that uses her face, warning that such content puts women’s dignity at risk and demanding stronger action against creating it without consent.
The video shows Mirza alongside an unknown male figure, set to the song “Achi Lagti Ho.” Mirza shared her reaction on Instagram Stories and made clear that she did not see any humor in it.
“This video is not funny at all. Using someone’s face and creating videos like this is extremely concerning. Today, it may be my face being used, but tomorrow it could be any girl’s face and her dignity could be put at risk,” she wrote.
She said that the experience unsettled her despite her constant presence online. “I’m someone who is active on social media, and even I felt extremely uncomfortable seeing this. Imagine girls who aren’t on social media at all, their pictures can also be misused in ways they may never even know about,” she added.
Mirza also acknowledged the value of artificial intelligence as a technology while stressing that using it to fabricate misleading or inappropriate content about real people crosses a line that demands consequences.
Mirza built her following through TikTok, where she became Pakistan’s most-followed personality on the platform with more than 25 million followers. She also commands around six million followers on Instagram.
Beyond short-form content, she stepped into music videos, appearing opposite actor Ali Josh in Sarmad Qadeer’s 2019 track “Shayar,” her first project outside TikTok.
