This young composer now earns more than A.R. Rahman
A.R Rahman has long been celebrated as one of the most successful and highest- paid composers in Indian cinema. However, there is now a new star composer in town and he has surpassed Rahman in earnings.
Anirudh Ravichander has managed to outshine music legends like A.R. Rahman, Arijit Singh, Pritam, and Diljit Dosanjh, claiming the title of India’s highest-paid composer.
Anirudh Ravichander began his career in 2012 with the super hit song Why This Kolaveri Di from the film 3. The song went viral, quickly gaining over 450 million views, showcasing his talent worldwide.
Since then, Anirudh has composed music for many hit films, and collaborated with stars like Vijay, Rajinikanth, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Shah Rukh Khan.
In 2023, Anirudh reached a new milestone when he made his Bollywood debut with the music for Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Anirudh surpassed Rahman, charging a record fee of Indian rupees 10 crore for Jawan higher than Rahman’s usual rate of INR 7 or 8 crore per project.
By 2024, Anirudh had composed music for hits film like Deyara with standard fees of Rupees eight crore per project, further solidifying his position as the highest-paid musician in India
