Three students from a madressah in Kadhar Sharif, Mandi Bahauddin, died after consuming a powdered drink that was allegedly poisonous and purchased from a nearby store.

According to police, the children’s condition deteriorated immediately after consumption. They were rushed to the hospital, where all three were pronounced dead.

SHO Kuthiala Sheikhan, Muhammad Asif Ranjha, said the children had bought the powdered drink from a shop near their seminary. Soon after drinking it, they experienced severe health complications.

The deceased students have been identified as 11-year-old Shahzaib, 13-year-old Sufyan, and 14-year-old Ahsan.

The bodies were handed over to their families following post-mortem examinations.

A case has been registered against two individuals, including the shop owner, and both suspects have been taken into custody.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
