Police in Punjab’s Rawalpindi, Mailsi and Chiniot districts have registered separate murder cases against three men for allegedly killing their wives.

In Rawalpindi, Saddar Baruni police registered an FIR [First Information Report] against the woman’s husband and his cousin on the complaint of the victim’s brother.

A police spokesperson stated that police registered the case under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

The victim’s brother stated in the FIR that his sister had been married for two years and had a one-year-old son. He detailed that the husband worked in Dubai and had returned to Pakistan four months ago.

The complainant stated that the husband subjected his sister to physical torture and mental stress for three to four days preceding her death.

Police took both suspects into custody for questioning and transferred the body to determine the cause of death through postmortem and forensic evaluations.

In a similar incident in Mailsi, police began investigating the murder of one Tehmina Bibi after her husband Muhammad Imran Bhatti allegedly attacked her with an axe following a domestic dispute in Mouza Sandhal village.

Police officials confirmed that the suspect fled the crime scene immediately after the attack.

Upon receiving information, Mailsi Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rao Tariq Pervez and Metro Station House Officer (SHO) Zubair Sindhu reached the site to inspect the crime scene.

Police took custody of the body and shifted it to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for necessary medico-legal formalities. According to reports, the victim was pregnant at the time of the incident and left behind four children Khurram, Sufyan, Ayesha Bibi and Riffat Bibi.

A third case of fatal domestic violence surfaced in Chiniot where Sadar police recovered the bodies of three children Ali Nawaz, Saba Zahra and Umm Baneen, aged between three and eight years from a cemetery after their father, identified as Nawaz, allegedly murdered them and his wife over a property dispute in Nekokara village.

According to reports, the conflict arose when the husband demanded the wife to transfer land ownership to his name, which she refused stating she had reserved the property for their children.

Officials reported that the enraged suspect killed his wife with the help of accomplices on August 30, took the three children, administered an intoxicating substance to them and buried them in the cemetery.

Following a complaint filed by the victim’s father at Sadar police station, investigating officials excavated the burial site four to five days after the deaths, recovered the bodies and shifted them for postmortem.
