The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore has arrested TikToker Muhammad Shahzaib, known as Shahzaib Sialkoti, after a female journalist filed a complaint.
The complaint accuses him of uploading indecent, insulting and demeaning content about her on social media.
During the operation, officers recovered mobile phones from the suspect. A technical examination of the devices turned up the social media accounts in question and video evidence linked to the complaint.
The NCCIA registered a case against him under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016.
The agency said that it will take strict legal action against anyone who targets a woman’s honour, dignity or reputation online, spreads insulting material about her or attacks her character.
Shahzaib has more than 250,000 followers on Instagram and more than one million on TikTok.
