A 20-year-old man was killed after being hit by a train while crossing a railway track near Pattoki Railway Station.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, the man was crossing the track while wearing earphones and did not notice the approaching train. He died at the scene.
Rescue officials recovered the body and handed it over to relevant authorities for legal proceedings.
A similar incident was reported in Layyah in May when two physically-challenged brothers were killed after being hit by a train near Jamman Shah on Kot Addu Road in the Veghi Wala Bund area of Layyah.
According to rescue personnel, the victims were four-year-old Azan and three-year-old Arsalan. Rescue teams had recovered their bodies from the railway track after receiving information about the incident.
Police had reached the scene and completed legal formalities before handing over the bodies to the family.
