Three generations of the Deol family will be sharing the screen together for the first time in the sequel of their much-loved family drama Apne.
Beside Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby, the film will also feature the senior Deol’s grandson and Sunny’s son Karan. While Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby have shared the screen together in several films, this is the first time Karan will feature with them.
The announcement was made on social media by all family members with a brief motion poster.
“Mere apnon! Jab tak maalik ka mehr-o-karam bana rahega, tab tak hum sath sath chalte rahenge,” said Dharmendra while sharing the poster.
“Babaji ke aashirwaad aur aapke pyaar ki wajah se aaj hum waapas ek sath nazar aayenge,” said Sunny. “Feeling blessed to get a chance to work with my father, brother again this time with my son.”
“It feels good to be home,” wrote Bobby.
Directed by Anil Sharma, the second installment of the film will be produced by Deepak Mukut.
The film will go into production in March 2021 and will release around Diwali 2021.
The family drama Apne, starring Dharmendra with Sunny and Bobby, was a hit upon release in 2007. The film also starred Katrina Kaif and Shilpa Shetty.
Dharmendra and his sons Sunny and Bobby were last seen together in Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se, which released in 2018, while Sunny launched his son Karan Deol last year in Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas.
