Tucker Carlson slams Trump's Iran post as 'evil', says no decent person mocks others' faith

Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson has thrashed United States (US) President Donald Trump for threatening Iran and signing off with “praise be to Allah”, calling it a mockery of both Islam and Christianity.

Trump's post, which came out on Easter morning, read: "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F****** Strait, you crazy b*******, or you'll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah."

"Who do you think you are? You are tweeting the F word on Easter morning," Carlson said while discussing the post on his podcast.

He said that no decent person mocks someone else's religion and that if Trump had a problem with theology, he could have just explained it but going after a religion itself was something no leader should do.

"No decent person mocks other people's religions," he stressed, saying that religion, at its core, is people accepting that they are not running the universe.

"We did not build it, we won't be here for the end of it, we can destroy life but we cannot create it. We are not God."

No president should mock Islam, that is not your job, he said, adding that America is not a theocracy and should never turn into one.

“Theocracies corrupt religion,” Carlson said.

He reiterated his emphasis on using the “F-word” and threatening to attack civilians on Easter morning, and said it was evil.

“It is an intentional desecration of beauty and truth. Which is the definition of evil."
