Police in Lahore have arrested two suspects after a young man was shot in the Harbanspura area on Tuesday.

According to initial reports, unidentified motorcyclists intercepted Saad, son of journalist Iqbal Nadeem, near the Journalists Housing Society and opened fire, injuring Saad. He was rushed to hospital, where he later died.

The suspects, identified as Obaid Ali and Niaz, were taken into custody following the incident. Iqbal Nadeem filed a complaint on which a murder case was registered against the two men. Police said early investigations point to a long-standing personal dispute as the motive behind the attack.

DIG Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran took notice of the case and directed police to move swiftly on the arrests. Both suspects have since been handed over to the Investigation Wing, where they will face further questioning as part of the legal process.

Police said that the case is being investigated and that more details are expected to emerge as the probe continues.
