Police have launched an investigation after finding the body of a two-year-old boy, identified as Sohail Khan, stuffed in a gunny bag in Lakki Marwat’s Wanda Shahab.
According to reports, the child had gone missing on Tuesday after heading out to play in the street. His family searched for him when he failed to return but could not locate him.
Two days later, his body was on Thursday recovered from a gunny bag and shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination. Initial reports suggest that the child’s throat had been slit with a sharp-edged weapon.
Police said a murder case against unidentified suspects had been registered at the Dadiwala Police Station and preliminary probe suggests that the boy’s family had no personal enmity or dispute with anyone in the area.
District Police Officer (DPO) Sajjad Ahmed has taken notice of the incident and formed a special team to identify and arrest those responsible for the killing.
Further probe is underway.
