Miranpur police in Vehari district have recovered three children allegedly abducted by three suspects accused of repeatedly raping their mother in the Kukri Kalan area of Mauza Gurdawar, police said.

The woman, who worked as domestic help at the residence of Mian Sajid Nawaz, accused three brothers of sexually assaulting her over a period of time and threatening to kill her if she disclosed the abuse to anyone.

According to her complaint, the suspects repeatedly raped her. She alleged that one of them attempted to assault her again on the day of the incident while she was in a room.

When the woman resisted and raised an alarm, her husband rushed to the room and rescued her. Her husband works as a shepherd.

Following the confrontation, the suspects allegedly abducted the couple’s three children- two minor sons and a daughter.

The woman approached the police, prompting the station house officer (SHO) to register an FIR [First Information Report] against the nominated suspects under sections 376 and 511 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), which deals with rape and attempts to commit offences, respectively.

Miranpur SHO Saeedur Rehman said that police had recovered the three children from the suspects’ illegal custody. He added that police teams were conducting raids to arrest the suspects.

Police spokesman Adnan Tariq also confirmed that Miranpur police were investigating the case when contacted.

The suspects have been booked in connection with the woman’s allegations, while police continue efforts to arrest them.
