Bystanders and relatives blocked an abduction attempt targeting a 16-year-old girl within the Satellite Town police jurisdiction in Gujranwala. The incident occurred while the teenager walked towards a local seminary alongside other girls.
According to the FIR [First Information Report], registered by the girl’s uncle, individuals traveling in a white Suzuki Alto intercepted the group on the street.
A male suspect exited the vehicle and attempted to force the 16-year-old girl inside.
The girl put up forceful resistance, while nearby residents and relatives raised an alarm. The intervention forced the suspects to abandon the attempt and flee the scene in the vehicle.
A video recording of the incident circulated on social media platforms following the event. Gujranwala police officials stated that investigators utilized the footage to identify the vehicle and the individuals involved, adding that operations are underway to apprehend the suspects.
The development follows a separate kidnapping case in Sahiwal, where City Police recovered 11-year-old Faizain Bibi 48 hours after her disappearance from the Jogi Chowk E-Green bus stop.
The victim, a resident of Okara district, disappeared while accompanying her maternal aunt for shopping. Investigators utilized Safe City cameras and CCTV footage to track the 45-year-old suspect, a woman named Nusrat Bibi, who transported the unconscious victim via multiple rickshaws to a rented property near Montgomery Chowk.
Sahiwal police utilized geo-fencing and forensic phone data analysis to locate the residence, leading to a raid that secured the victim and resulted in the arrest of the primary suspect and her husband, Ali Sher Baloch. Station House Officer (SHO) Rai Nasir stated that while the suspect claimed she found the girl alone, “Police suspect she intended to sell the child, as she had been in contact with some buyers.”
