Wasim Akram slams player’s fitness after Afghanistan defeat
After an eight wicket defeat by Afghanistan in the ICC Cricket World Cup, Wasim Akram expressed reservations over the fitness of the Pakistan team, slamming the squad’s management.
Talking on a private TV show, Wasim Akram said that it is a shame that Afghanistan made a big score of 280 while losing just two wickets. For several weeks they have been shouting on the TV screen that the players have not had a fitness test for two years, he said.

“Now, let’s take the names of the players individually, who have become so big, looking at them, it seems as if they eat eight kilos of nihari daily, at least they should be tested”.
The former captain said, “Professionally these boys are paid, they play for the country, and there should be some standard rules for them”.
After the defeat against Australia, Wasim Akram criticized Haris Rauf’s bowling and said, “This is what I had to say about Haris Rauf before the start of the World Cup. Until Haris Rauf plays first-class cricket, he will have a problem in ODIs”.
He further said “Why do we call our bowling the best attack in the world? Our bowlers are talented, Shaheen Shah Afridi is one of the best bowlers among them, unfortunately, Naseem Shah is suffering from an injury.”
