What happened before Pakistan-USA T20 World Cup match?
A surprising story about the national cricket team emerged before the match against the USA in the World Cup.
The national team arrived in Dallas on June 1, before the tournament’s first match against the USA; captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper Muhammad Rizwan participated as guests in the Islamic Center program from 6 pm to 10 pm.
The next day, between 5 and 10 pm, captain Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, manager Wahab Riaz, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf were to participate in the ‘Night with Star’ program, but the event had to be cancelled due to two reasons. One reason was the difference in remuneration between Babar Azam and other players, while the other reason was that Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam did not agree to participate in the program together, Jang reported.
On June 2, five national team players, Imad Wasim, Muhammad Amir, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Usman Khan, participated in a program at ‘CAVALLI Restaurant’, famous for parties. The players were paid between 2000 and 2500 dollars to participate in the event. The organizer took $25 per person from the attendees to cover their expenses, which was also reported in Pakistani media.
The Pakistan team was supposed to play a match with the United States on June 6 at 10:30 am, but the players were seen outside the hotel until late at night. There were two managers with the national team.
According to eyewitnesses, the night before the US match, three players were in the restaurant outside the hotel until two o’clock in the morning.
Jang has reported that there are three groups in the team, and these players do not even talk to each other. Apart from two events in Dallas, the players did not participate in any events in the US.
Senior manager Wahab Riaz reportedly allowed the players to leave the hotel at night.
The national team has been eliminated from the ongoing T20 World Cup after embarrassing defeats against the USA and India.
