Indian Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has just taken his iconic style to the next level by wearing Pakistan’s leading streetwear label, Rastah.

In a recent Instagram post, Rastah revealed that Diljit donned their archive embroidered trousers for his latest film Sardaar Ji 3, styled by AmbiKa Sanjana (@styledbyambika).

The trousers are deep navy with intricate gold embroidery featuring bold traditional motifs.

Since its launch in 2018, Rastah has steadily risen from a niche Lahore-based label to a standout name in the global fashion scene. They are known for blending contemporary streetwear with South Asian textiles and craft traditions.

Previously, Hollywood’s heartthrob Timothée Chalamet was spotted in Los Angeles wearing a cozy brown Rastah sweatshirt paired with matching pants.

Pop icon Justin Bieber turned heads when he wore a hand-embroidered pink button-up shirt from Rastah’s Volume 10 collection, showcasing the brand’s intricate craftsmanship.

Bollywood royalty has embraced Rastah, too. Veteran actor Anil Kapoor wore the label’s Hand-woven Dot Jacket at the Animal premiere in Mumbai, while his son Harshvardhan Kapoor also featured in a collaborative shoot wearing a handcrafted denim yarn-dyed jacket, showing how Rastah seamlessly blends East and West.

Iman Vellani, who plays Ms. Marvel, wore the ‘Pink Eyes Can’t See’ patch T-shirt in the Ms. Marvel finale, a subtle yet powerful nod to South Asian representation on screen.

In 2022, Rastah’s founders made the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 list. The brand also became the first Pakistani label showcased at London Fashion Week in 2023.

The reactions to Diljit’s latest style move have been full of excitement and pride. Singer Aima Baig showed her approval with fiery emojis “🔥🔥🔥” while stand-up comedian Akaash Singh cheered, writing “LETS GO!”.

Fans praised the brand’s continued success, commenting “Always love your stuff” and “Celebration time ❤❤”.

Many celebrated the moment as a win for Pakistani fashion, with one user writing, “Moving further up in the world ❤ good for you guys, best of luck 🙌” and another calling it “Another banger 🔥🔥”.

One fan summed up the pride perfectly: “Punjabi a gye oye 👏” while another shared, “Waoooooo I always feel your success as mine personal ♥”.

Despite a ban on its release in India, Sardaar Ji 3 is smashing records overseas. Starring Diljit alongside Pakistani star Hania Aamir, the Punjabi-language film has earned around ₹33.6 crore (PKR 109.87 crore) in just one week and is on track to hit the ₹50 crore (PKR 163.5 crore) mark soon. Loved by audiences in the US, Canada, the UK, and Pakistan, the film is being praised as a huge success story for cross-border Punjabi cinema.
