Zamil has apparently decided that the easiest way back into Zaryab’s life is through a never-ending stream of WhatsApp voice notes and Dar-e-Nijaat viewers are now more confused about Zaryab’s decision not to block him than they are about anything else happening in the drama.
The latest episode turned into a full-blown WhatsApp saga after Zamil, unable to stay away from Zaryab, started sending her voice notes and missed calls, asking her to meet him before he left for London.
Zaryab listened but kept resisting the urge to reply, even as Zamil kept trying to get through to her.
Her younger sister, meanwhile, had already given her the reality check many viewers felt she needed. She reminded Zaryab that Zamil was a “cheater” and later called him herself to tell him that Zaryab was getting married.
That news appeared to hit Zamil where it hurt especially when he learned that Zaryab was marrying Abubakar, the same man he had insisted would never marry her and the man her grandmother preferred.
Instead of taking the hint, Zamil went straight back to the voice notes.
He kept messaging Zaryab and eventually told her, “If you wanted to marry him you can marry me,” before adding that he can contract a second marriage with her.
For viewers, that was enough to reopen an argument that had been building since Zamil ended his relationship with Zaryab and told her that their time together belonged to his “era of ignorance”.
One viewer was baffled by the entire situation, writing, “Zamil tou hai hee cheater but what tf is the matter with Zaryab,” before pointing out that he had treated her “like a tissue paper” when she had begged him not to leave.
But the biggest question remained painfully simple: why is Zaryab still listening?
“Someone teach zaryab how to use block feature,” one viewer wrote. Another asked, “Why wont zaryab block him ajeeb msgs ka jawab day jari ha or zamil narcissist.”
The frustration reached another level when viewers started addressing Zaryab directly.
“Have some self respect Zaryab. Why are you still falling for that loser Zamil,” one viewer wrote.
Another said, “Fr!! And why isn’t she using block button! Daddu cooked zamil so well & still she wanna hear those voice messages.”
Then came the viewers who were not willing to blame Zaryab for finding it difficult to let go.
One viewer argued that she had spent years attached to Zamil and had imagined her future with him, writing, “People really need to understand that the way zaryab is reacting is actually natural. She’s a girl who has liked the same person since childhood and has been extremely attached to him for years. She never imagined her future with anyone other than zamil.”
Another viewer made a similar point, saying Zaryab “isn’t a red flag” and that moving on from Zamil will not be easy because she has known him since childhood and had always imagined herself with him.
Meanwhile, Zamil’s sudden return to Zaryab also had viewers questioning how genuine his earlier religious transformation had been. One person said he “never truly repented from his heart” and remained “stuck in his daur-e-jahiliyat”, arguing that his actions were driven by his ego after Zaryab’s Dado preferred Abubakar.
And then, somehow, the WhatsApp saga followed Zaryab and Zamil all the way to the nikkah day.
Zaryab told Zamil that her nikkah with Abubakar was at 4:30 and that if he came at that time, she will marry him and leave Abu Bakar.
At that point, viewers were no longer just watching Zamil send voice notes. They were watching Zaryab decide what she will do with them and wondering why the block button still hadn’t entered the story.
