A woman in Jaranwala has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed her husband and their three daughters during a dispute over financial and domestic issues.
Police identified the woman as 35-year-old Gulshan Bibi and her husband as 40-year-old Muhammad Khalid. According to police, the couple had quarrelled over their finances and other domestic issues before Gulshan allegedly attacked Khalid and their daughters on Wednesday.
The three girls have been identified as 10-year-old Aneeqa, eight-year-old Anaya and four-year-old Ayeza.
The injured family members were taken to the Jaranwala Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for treatment. Doctors later referred Khalid to Faisalabad Allied Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, police have said.
The girls were also shifted to a hospital for treatment where they are now described as being out of danger.
Police took Gulshan into custody, while a case was registered on the complaint of Khalid’s brother.
Last month, Peshawar police arrested a woman for allegedly throwing acid at a 26-year-old man and opening fire on him after he refused her marriage proposal in the Chamkani area.
Police said the suspect, identified as Atiqa, was nominated in an FIR [First Information Report] registered at Chamkani Police Station and was taken into custody on Thursday. According to the FIR, Atiqa and the victim, identified as Sadiqullah, were friends. Sadiqullah alleged that Atiqa had been pressuring him to marry her and demanding Rs2.3 million.
Sadiqullah told police that he had refused her demands. He alleged that Atiqa threw acid at him while he was leaving his house and then opened fire at him.
