Woman charged with honey trapping Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar says she’s being tortured in jail
The preliminary medical report of Amina Urooj, suspected of honey trapping controversial writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, says that assault marks were found on her legs.
Lahore High Court’s Justice Tariq Saleem Shaikh heard the request plea of Amina Urooj’s mother, Zeenat Bibi, asking for a medical exam.
The petition made IG Prisons and Superintendent of Kot Lakhpat Jail parties in the plea, alleging that Amina was subjected to severe physical and mental torture during physical remand.
The petitioner’s lawyer stated that Amina is suffering from severe internal and external injuries. It was requested that she be ordered to undergo full medical treatment.
The preliminary medical report confirmed that marks of torture were found on both legs, and she also suffered three injuries. The report recommended an X-ray and some other tests.
The accused was also alleged to have been subjected to electric shocks during the investigation, but the doctors did not agree with the charge.
Justice Tariq Saleem Shaikh asked how much time would be required to complete the medical report. The MS of Services Hospital said that they would complete the medical report in three to four days.
The court adjourned the hearing until August 27, ordering a complete medical examination.
