Indian police have registered a case against six people following a complaint by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Amarinder Singh Mandofal, who accused a woman of posing as a Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officer before marrying him and later leaving their home with gold, silver and other valuables.

According to Indian media reports, Singh alleged that the woman, identified as Manwinder Kaur, was introduced to him and his family as an unmarried PCS officer.

He also alleged that false information was provided about her age.

Police registered the case against Kaur and five others on allegations of fraud and forgery.

The other accused are her brother, mother, cousin, sister-in-law and a former village sarpanch.

Singh told Indian media that he married Kaur in February 2026 in a ceremony attended by relatives, guests and prominent political figures from the Punjab Assembly.

Photographs and videos from the wedding also emerged publicly.

He alleged that he later discovered Kaur had previously been married and was divorced. Singh further claimed that she has an 18-year-old son.

According to the complaint, Kaur allegedly left the house several months after the wedding, taking gold, silver and other valuable belongings with her.

Police have launched an investigation into the allegations and are searching for the people named in the case.
