In the 18th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup, Australia easily defeated Pakistan by 62 runs and achieved their second victory in the event.

The Australian team scored 367 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 50 overs, David Warner scored 163 runs and Mitchell Marsh scored 121 runs for the Kangaroos.

Shaheen Afridi took five wickets and Haris Rauf took three wickets for Pakistan.

Chasing Australia’s target of 368 runs, Pakistan got off to a good start, with Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafiq putting on a 134-run opening partnership and both scoring half-centuries.

But then Abdullah got out after scoring 64 runs and Imamul Haq after putting up 70 runs. After that, captain Babar Azam once again failed to play a big innings in the World Cup and returned to the pavilion for just 18 runs. Rizwan also departed after scoring 46 runs, while Muhammad Nawaz scored 14 runs, Hasan Ali scored eight runs, and Shaheen Afridi scored 10 runs, thus the entire Pakistan team was bowled out for 305 runs in 45.3 overs.

Adam Zampa of Australia dismissed four players by giving 53 runs while Cummins and Stoins took two wickets.
