Pakistani actors Yasir Hussain and Amna Ilyas are set to star in an upcoming social comedy titled “Paanch Hazaar Main Shaadi”.
According to reports, the film is written by Yasir Taj and Yasir Hussain, with Taj also directing it.
The film aims to deliver a humorous story while highlighting an important social message.
However, none of the actors has confirmed this.
Hussain, who is also a director, screenwriter and playwright, started his career as a VJ for Aag TV before moving into theatre, where he acted in plays including “Angan Terha” and “Pawney 14 August”.
He made his film debut with “Karachi Se Lahore”, which he also wrote, and followed it with “Lahore Se Aagey”, where he starred opposite Saba Qamar. He is also known for playing the antagonist in the 2018 social drama “Baandi”.
Amna Ilyas, on the other hand, made her acting debut in the 2013 crime drama “Zinda Bhaag” alongside Naseeruddin Shah, a role that won her the Best Female Debut award.
She went on to star in “Good Morning Karachi” (2014), “Saat Din Mohabbat In” (2018), “Baaji” (2019) and “Ready Steady No” (2019), establishing herself as one of Pakistani cinema’s leading actresses.
This is not the first time Yasir and Ilyas will be working together as the two have also previously starred in the web series “Kala Bichoo” and crime thriller “BeyKhauf” where Hussain played a police officer and Ilyas played a reporter.
