Pakistani actor Zahid Ahmed has started an intense debate after calling social media “the work of the devil” during a recent podcast appearance.
Known for his versatile acting, Zahid has made his mark in several popular dramas like Ishq Zah e Naseeb and Gentleman. He began his career in radio before moving to theatre and eventually becoming a well-known face on television.
During the podcast, Zahid spoke openly about social media and modern lifestyles, expressing strong criticism of the digital age.
“Social media is the work of the devil, and those who create content on it will go to hell,” Zahid said.
He admitted that his statement might invite criticism since he himself uses social media, but clarified that he was only expressing his personal opinion. “I know I might be criticized because I’m also on social media, but this is just my personal viewpoint,” he added.
Zahid further said that sharing one’s private life, children, and daily routines online is wrong. “Social media is the invention that has caused the most harm to humanity,” he stated.
His comments have triggered a heated discussion online, with some users agreeing with his views, while others criticized him for taking an overly harsh stance.
