Indian fighter Suchika Tariyal was left heartbroken after a controversial semifinal loss in the women's Traditional 60kg MMA event at the Asian Games 2026. 😤 Her bout against Singapore's Hui Hoon Teo initially went in Teo's favour, but after India's protest, arbitration judges rescored the fight and declared it a draw.

Under Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association rules, a draw goes to the lighter fighter, and since Suchika weighed around 700 grams more, Teo advanced to the final while Suchika settled for bronze. Visibly emotional, Suchika broke down and refused to accept the result, alleging corruption behind the decision.

A viral video has social media users questioning why Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Sohail Afridi skipped the funeral prayers of martyred soldiers in Peshawar last night.

While Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi among top civil and military officials were in attendance, the internet is speculating if CM Afridi skipped the ceremony to travel to Lahore “to save Imran Khan’s sisters”.

Comments from social media users came after the KP CM, in a video message recorded on the motorway, said he was travelling to Lahore after receiving information that Noreen Niazi and Dr Uzma Khanum were at risk of arrest.

The PTI has since reported the arrest of the two in a development that follows Aleema Khan’s detention under Section 3 of the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance, 1960.

Aleema was on Sunday transferred to Kot Lakhpat Jail for 30 days.

The PTI has yet to comment on the matter.
