Atif Aslam talked about the song’s making in an interview with Next Level Backstage.When asked about working with Humayun Saeed, the Pehli Dafa singer said, “It feels strange because he’s been around for a long time, and this is our first time working together, which is great.”

Atif also expressed that he had a ‘wonderful time’ working with Sana Shahnawaz and Samina Humayun Saeed, the two women behind Gentleman. He revealed that he was presented with two different compositions, and, after careful consideration, they chose the one that became the final OST. “It was a general consensus amongst us that this choice was the one. The credit goes to them they were fair to the compositions and to the drama itself.”

Atif remembered how he felt when he first heard the lyrics of ‘Tumhari Chup.’ “These lyrics are relatable for anyone who has experienced longing in any relationship, and that’s the vibe I felt too when I heard the lyrics,” he said. Talking about how songs evolve, he added, “I believe that in every song, you learn something new, so I’m always open to learning.”

Discussing the influence of rain on music, Atif shared, “I recorded ‘Tumhari Chup’ during rainfall, and whenever I record music while it’s raining, the songs turn out well.” He also mentioned that the entire recording process took only two to three hours. The combination of Atif’s emotional singing and Naveed’s powerful composition of ‘Tumhari Chup’ has played a significant role in the early success of ‘Gentleman.’
