YouTuber IShowSpeed has released a new track titled “World Cup (Champions)” ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, and the internet has wasted no time making its feelings known.
The music video racked up over three million views on YouTube within 15 hours of its premiere, while the teaser on X crossed 34 million views in just over 12 hours. On Instagram, the reel pulled in over four million likes, more than 30,000 comments, and over 1.71 lakh reshares.
Fan reactions poured in across every platform.
On YouTube, one viewer wrote, “He’s traveled the world and experienced their culture. This guy deserves to represent the World Cup, to be honest.”
On X, the response was equally enthusiastic, with users writing, “Bro went from watching World Cup clips to potentially making the World Cup soundtrack” and “FIFA gotta start hiring Speed officially at this point.” Others expressed genuine surprise: “Wait, Speed can sing??”
The comment that captured the internet’s mood best, however, came from a user who wrote, “Damn this sounds better than Shakira’s Dai Dai,” referring to the official FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem by Colombian superstar Shakira and Afrobeats star Burna Boy.
Another fan added, “This has to be the official song for the World Cup, man.”
IShowSpeed himself stoked the fire by urging FIFA to adopt the track as the tournament’s official anthem. FIFA’s official World Cup account on X responded with a teasing, “We will be in touch…,” sending fans into a frenzy. “FIFA must be tense…. Expectations are high now,” one user commented.
This is not the first time IShowSpeed has tapped into World Cup fever. In 2022, he released a track simply titled “World Cup” through Warner Records in honour of the tournament, a video that has since accumulated over 209 million views on YouTube.
Shakira, whose “Dai Dai” collaboration with Burna Boy serves as the official anthem for the 2026 edition, is no stranger to this stage. Her 2010 World Cup song “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)” remains one of the most celebrated tournament anthems ever made.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 runs from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
