Alison Brie: The Actress Who’s Mastered Both Comedy and Drama

Alison Brie is an American writer, producer, and actress. She first gained recognition for her role as Campbell in the award-winning series Mad Men and then for her role in Community. Alison Brie is "the face of Hollywood's vintage-style period drama." She was recently nominated for awards after starring in the Netflix series GLOW. Her Career History

In 2006, Brie landed her first major role as a supporting cast member in the Disney sitcom Hannah Montana. This role accompanied her as Trudy Campbell in Mad Men, which she played until the show's finale in 2015. Alison Brie also balanced work on shows like My Alibi and Community. It helped her career and garnered praise from critics and a Critics' Choice Award nomination. 

Brie's name began to appear in various publications, such as "Most Beautiful Women Around the World" lists. She hosted an Attack of the Show episode around this time and was featured in the movie Montana Amazon. Another big role followed in 2011 with "Scream 4." From 2011 to 2013,  Alison Brie had her appearances in "The Five Year Engagement" and "The Lego Movie." This time, she was also able to step out as a voice actor in animated television shows such as “American Dad!” and “BoJack Horseman.”

She returned to television in 2017 as the lead in the Netflix original series GLOW. The series was nominated for acting awards, including a Critics' Choice Award and a Golden Globe Award. Brie claimed that GLOW afforded her more opportunities for serious roles as the industry began to consider her a serious contender.

In 2020,  Alison Brie starred in the film Promising Young Woman, after which she wrote, produced, and starred in Horse Girl. This was followed by notable features such as The Rental and Happiest Season. 

Dave Franco and Alison Brie's Relationship

In March 2017, a source confirmed that Franco and Brie had officially tied the knot. "They kept it pretty private," Franco told Entertainment Tonight. "It was great. It was really special. It was intimate, and it was fun."

Later on, Alison Brie was asked during an appearance on Watch What Happens to Live with Andy Cohen what her favorite moment from the wedding was. "Probably our wedding vows," she said. "Because we wrote our own and didn't know what the other would say."

"I'm trying to remember how they all felt very sweet from the whole lot of it," she said. "It's funny to hear them out loud, and you feel like, 'We said all the same things that we want to be for each other.' That was very sweet."
