Former English cricketer Sir Alastair Cook believes Pakistan should not be written off in the series against England, despite a heavy defeat in the first Test.
Stick to Cricket podcast shared the quote on their social media, writing, “You can’t doubt Pakistan’s ability to bounce back.”

The Green Shirts go into the second Test on the back foot after losing the first Test at Leeds. England won that match by an innings and 103 runs, bowling Pakistan out for 171 and 135 after posting 409 in their only innings. It was a heavy defeat and left the tourists needing a strong response at Lord’s to keep the series alive.
Pakistan have made a much better start in the second Test. The visitors won the toss and chose to field first at Lord’s on Thursday, and the seam bowlers made the most of the conditions on day one.
Mohammad Abbas led the way with four wickets for 56 runs, while Mohammad Ali picked up three for 67.
England slipped to 36 for 3 in the morning session before Jamie Smith and Jordan Cox steadied the innings with fifties of 61 and 55. Bad light brought an early end to play with England on 248 for 9.
