Children in Gaza have sent a thank-you message to YouTuber Darren Watkins Jr better know as IShowSpeed, after his livestream helped raise $9,000 for a local school and soup kitchen.

A video shared on social media shows dozens of children gathered inside a large tent. They smile, wave and hold a handmade sign decorated with hand-drawn hearts. The sign reads, “Thank you IShowSpeed for supporting our School and Kitchen.”

Go Project Hope, a US-based nonprofit, shared the video and credited the streamer with raising thousands of dollars for its humanitarian work in Gaza.

“Because of Speed’s livestream, we were able to raise $9,000 for our lifesaving programs in Gaza,” the organization wrote on Facebook and Instagram.

It said his platform introduced the charity to thousands of potential donors and that every donation goes toward the soup kitchen and school.

The charity said the money will keep both red programs running for weeks. “The money donated through your livestream will fund our soup kitchen and school for the next five weeks!”

Go Project Hope describes itself as a health and education initiative. It works with Gaza Soup Kitchen to provide meals to families in the Jabaliya refugee camp in North Gaza. According to the nonprofit, a $4 donation can provide a meal for an entire family.

Speed reportedly helped draw attention to the initiative by letting a Palestinian man discuss the organization’s work during one of his livestreams.

He has supported Palestinian relief efforts before. In June 2024, he reportedly donated $50,000 of his $100,000 winnings from a Wipeout challenge featuring KSI and MrBeast.
