Thieves broke into vehicles transferring England’s equipment to their Kansas City training base, stealing balls and boots before the World Cup squad’s arrival on Saturday.
According to foreign media reports, the stolen equipment was due to be in place at Swope Soccer Village before England began training following their move from their pre-tournament base in Florida.
The Football Association confirmed an incident had occurred but said that it could not provide further details as the matter was now with police.
The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department told the Daily Mail that they were investigating a possible theft of equipment from a team vehicle that arrived in Kansas City with items missing.
Reports also confirmed that two arrests had been made in connection with the incident.
England are due to train at Swope Soccer Village for the first time at 5 pm local time on Saturday.
They open their World Cup campaign against Croatia on Wednesday in Dallas, before further Group L fixtures against Ghana and Panama.
