A clip from an Indian chef’s podcast has gone viral after a Pakistan journalist caught him lying.

In the clip, chef Arun Chauhan claimed that Pakistan was the most “foodie” team he had observed, saying that players lacked discipline around food and rarely followed instructions from management.

To illustrate his point, he recalled watching a Test match at Wankhede Stadium where Shoaib Akhtar was playing, describing him as someone with a dominant personality who never followed instructions.

Pakistan journalist Faizan Lakhani was quick to point out the discrepancy.

“Kya yaar, kuch bhi! Agar propaganda hi chalana hai, at least facts tou sahi rakh lo. Pakistan has played only one game at Wankhede in history, and Shoaib Akhtar was just four-years-old at that time.”

“Even this chef wouldn’t have been more than 10–12 years old back then. But of course, why bother with facts when you know your ‘target audience’ won’t verify anything when you fabricate any story targeting Pakistani players,” he added.

Pakistan have played only one Test match at Wankhede, the third Test of their 1979 tour of India, held from December 16 to 20, 1979. India won that match by 131 runs.

Shoaib Akhtar, born in 1975, was four at the time.
