Khawaja Nafay denies payment issues in BPL
Pakistani cricketer Khawaja Muhammad Nafay has denied reports claiming that he was stranded in Bangladesh because of unpaid dues from his Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise.
Earlier, reports surfaced stating that Nafay was stuck in Bangladesh as his franchise had not cleared his full payments. It was also alleged that his return ticket to Pakistan was fake, causing him to be held at Dhaka Airport.
However, the cricketer has now dismissed these claims.
According to a private media outlet, Nafay clarified that he is staying in a five-star hotel, not at the airport, and has received all his payments. His return ticket was not fake, and false news about his situation was being spread.
Previously, Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Haris also faced issues in Bangladesh when his team, Durbar Rajshahi, failed to provide return tickets for its players and did not fulfil their payment commitments.
He informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about the situation, after which the PCB intervened and resolved the matter by coordinating with the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
