Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed has expressed confidence in his physical condition and long-term international ambitions, saying he believes he has several more years of cricket ahead of him.
“If you look at my fitness, Alhamdulillah, I scored 85% in the domestic fitness test. I’m working on my skills as well, enjoying my game, and my goal is to play for Pakistan. I believe I can continue playing for another seven to eight years,” he said during a recent media interaction.
The 35-year-old is currently representing Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, where he has taken 11 wickets across seven matches while contributing 32 runs with the bat in three innings.
In the 2026 PSL player auction, he was signed by Peshawar Zalmi for PKR 1.8 crore. He has previously represented Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans in the league.
Iftikhar made his international debut in November 2015 during Pakistan’s tour of England, where he also topped the scoring charts for Pakistan A. He went on to make his Test debut against England at The Oval in August 2016 and his T20I debut against Sri Lanka in the 2016 Asia Cup.
Across his international career, Iftikhar has played 4 Tests, 28 ODIs and 66 T20 Internationals for Pakistan. In Tests he has scored 61 runs. In ODIs, he has scored 614 runs with a highest score of 109, and his best bowling figures in the format stand at 5 for 40. In T20Is, he has scored 998 runs.
