Australian cricketer David Warner hit back at an Indian social media user who advised him to quit the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and return to the Indian Premier League (PSL), saying the move was no longer necessary.
The user told Warner: “It’s better for you, leave PSL and come back to IPL,” to which the Karachi Kings captain replied: “No need for that now.”
The exchange came after Warner took to social media at the conclusion of PSL 11 to reflect on his and the team’s campaign.
“It wasn’t the result we were hoping for in the PSL, but the spirit, dedication and hard work of the players throughout has been outstanding,” he wrote.
He also used the post to thank those who supported the team on the ground. “Thank you to the police, security and those who were patient with the traffic delays for looking after us,” he added.
Warner captained Karachi Kings in his debut PSL season, scoring 250 runs across nine matches at an average of 27.77, including two half-centuries with a highest score of 63 not out.
Despite finishing on 10 points, the Kings missed out on the playoffs on net run rate, marking the fourth time the franchise had failed to reach the knockout stage since the league began in 2016.
