Pakistan advanced to the quarter-finals of the Asian Doubles Squash Championship after winning both their matches, including a victory over India.
In the first match, Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal defeated India’s Rahul Baitha and Suraj Kumar 2-0.
In the second match, Mohammad Hamza Khan and Mohammad Asim Khan beat their Hong Kong opponents 2-0.
Both Pakistani pairs now advance to the quarter-finals, which take place today in Sarawak, Malaysia.
The 3rd Asian Doubles Squash Championship runs from June 18 to 21 at the Sarawak Squash Centre in Petra Jaya, Kuching.
The tournament is organised by the Squash Racquets Association of Sarawak and sanctioned by the Asian Squash Federation. Nine countries are competing across men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles events: Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore and Thailand.
Results from the championship carry ranking points towards qualification for the 2026 Asian Games.
Malaysia is hosting the event for the third consecutive year, following editions in Johor Bahru in 2024 and Kuching in 2025.
