The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has launched its first-ever eFootball national team, entering the FIFAe Nations League 2026, marking the country’s formal debut in competitive football gaming at the international level.
A four-member squad has been selected to represent Pakistan in the tournament, which runs under the FIFA banner and stands as one of esports’ most prestigious international competitions.
PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani said the move is part of a broader strategy to build a football ecosystem beyond the playing field.
“Pakistan has always had the talent. What we are doing now is giving that talent a stage to shine and represent the country with pride,” he said, adding that esports is where millions of young Pakistanis already live.
“We have an obligation as a federation to meet them there and to provide them with a platform to compete.”
The four players were selected through national trials conducted by PFF’s partner Raptr Games, with 178 players taking part in the process.
PFF Esports Manager Shahzeb Raza said this is only the beginning.
“The FIFAe Nations League is the first step in our roadmap. This will be followed by rolling trials as we are on the lookout for the best available talent in Pakistan. We have big plans to organize FIFAe competitions across Pakistan, in schools, universities and colleges, and we are excited for what the future holds,” he said.
Pakistan is among 115 nations confirmed for the 2vs2 eFootball console format, with the first qualifying week scheduled for April 14-16.
