Pakistan has claimed the inaugural Four Nations Cup polo title at Great Meadow in The Plains, Virginia, defeating England in the final to take the honours at the first-of-its-kind tournament in the Washington DC region.
The tournament brought together national teams from the United States, Pakistan, England and Argentina. Pakistan came through the competition to face England in the final, where they produced a strong display to secure the title.
The Four Nations Cup, held at the scenic 374-acre Great Meadow venue, was billed as an event uniting sport, diplomacy and international camaraderie, with diplomats, business leaders and equestrian enthusiasts in attendance.
Polo carries deep roots in Pakistan, particularly in the northern regions of Gilgit and Skardu, where the sport is played at high altitudes.
The country has a long history of producing competitive polo players on the international stage.
