Pakistani anchor and marathon runner Mona Khan has been arrested in Athens, Greece, for waving the Pakistan flag while hiking.
Ber coach Muhammad Yusuf said, “Mona Khan arrived in Athens 2 days ago to participate in a hiking event. I have appealed for help from the Pakistani Embassy in Greece for her release.’
On the other hand, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said, “The Pakistani embassy has taken up the matter with the Greek authorities and has asked the Greek authorities for consular access to Mona Khan. Pakistani embassy in Greece is investigating the reasons behind the arrest.”
The Pakistani embassy is also in touch with Mona Khan’s coach. She has been shifted to jail and will be produced in court on Monday.
