Pakistani boxer Qudratullah has gone missing in Glasgow after travelling to Scotland for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Qudratullah, who hails from Quetta, represented Pakistan at the games but struggled with a poor performance.
According to reports, he did not board the flight bringing the Pakistan boxing team back home as it departed from Glasgow on Sunday.
Pakistan Boxing Federation president Colonel (r) Nasir Tung addressed the matter, saying, “I have no knowledge of any boxer going missing, but sources are confirming that Qudratullah has avoided returning.”
This is not the first incident of its kind involving Pakistani athletes at the Commonwealth Games as two boxers also went missing from the Pakistan contingent at the 2022 Games in England.
Earlier, Pakistan’s only medal at the games came from boxer Fatima Zahra, who won bronze in the women’s 60kg event.
The country’s male boxers, including Qudratullah, failed to make an impact in their respective categories.
