Pakistani PUBG Mobile team 4Thrives have won PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) Season 1, played in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Featuring 32 teams from around the world, the tournament had a $500,000 prize pool. 4Thrives qualified through the Last Chance qualifier and dominated the first day of the finals, finishing in first place with 82 points across six matches. On the second day, the Smash Rule (top team’s points + 10) was applied, which set the Smash threshold at 92 points for the final day.
Any team that surpassed the Smash points threshold would need to secure a Chicken Dinner (match win) to be crowned champion, with the tournament ending after that same match. If no team secured a Chicken Dinner after surpassing the Smash points, the team finishing the finals in first place by total points would be declared the winner.
4Thrives crossed the Smash Rule threshold in the very first match of the day, gaining 20 points, but their next four matches went poorly. ULF also surpassed the Smash points, leaving everything to be decided in the final match. Heading into it, 4Thrives were at 113 points with ULF close behind at 104.
Neither side secured a Chicken Dinner in the decisive match, and 4Thrives claimed the championship by finishing first on total points, ending the tournament with 122 points.
This is Pakistan’s first-ever global trophy in PUBG Mobile.
