The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced its Men’s Domestic Cricket Calendar for the 2026-27 season on Wednesday, laying out a busy schedule that will run from August 11, 2026 to June 15, 2027.

The season will feature two List-A tournaments, three first-class competitions, two non-first-class three-day events, two T20 tournaments, age-group cricket for U19, U15 and U17 players, and district-level leagues across 100 districts.

The season kicks off in Multan with the four-team National Champions Cup, a List-A tournament that runs from 11 to 18 August. This will be followed by the eight-team Departmental One-Day Cup, known as the President’s Cup Grade-I, held in Karachi from August 21 to September 8.

Both tournaments carry added significance as Pakistan builds toward the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in South Africa, scheduled from October 4 to November 21, 2027.

First-class red-ball cricket takes centre stage later in the year with the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold and Silver divisions running concurrently from November to December.

The Gold division will feature eight teams competing in Islamabad, Peshawar, Abbottabad and Rawalpindi, while the Silver division expands to 12 teams across Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.

The previously non-first-class Hanif Mohammad Trophy has now been upgraded to first-class status and rebranded as the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Silver.

In a move to widen the talent pool, the PCB has increased the number of regional teams in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and National T20 Cup from 18 to 20, adding an extra team each for Sialkot and Peshawar.

These two regions join Lahore and Karachi as the only areas fielding two teams apiece.

Non-first-class red-ball cricket will continue through the President’s Trophy Grade-II Gold and Silver divisions, while young cricketers get their own red-ball pathway through a newly arranged three-day U19 tournament comprising 47 matches, running alongside a 50-over U19 competition.

The PCB Talent Hunt Programme for Schools has also been expanded significantly, growing from 450 to 1,200 schools and from 39 to 100 districts for the upcoming season.

The domestic season will also include National T20 Cup Silver and Gold events in Lahore in February and March 2027, along with U15 and U17 tournaments, district challenge leagues, and inter-district competitions running into June 2027.
